Instagram Post: Where there's a will, there's a way. #walking #10000steps For fun (yes this is considered fun), I ran my gps phone tracker app I use for #biking while I did a little yard work today. The usual mowing, weed whacking, edging, etc. Turns out I walked 2+ miles & almost 10K in steps. Not a bad way to start the day. #fitdontquit #fightforit

June 02, 2016

Instagram Post: (1) Pre ride #biking photo, I'm definitely outfit coordinated today lol #fightforit #fitdontquit #fitness #seagullcentury2016 #seagullcenturytraining (2) Just finished my "Lost Voyage" #biking experience. Never really lost actually but I Zigged when I should of Zagged and ended up at probably the most fun location I ever worked in #RegalCrossKeys circa 97-00. I was all over, both sides of the pike and went back to #WashingtonLakePark 30 miles on the day. Good day. Hot day. I definitely sweated a bunch. Grateful for multiple water bottle cages on this bike.

The Ride: I started out with a goal. I never do that. I've driven through Whitman Square a few times and thought it would be a neat rode to bike on. My biggest problem though was figuring out how to get there safely. I headed out through Washington Township and realized quickly that going through some back roads and neighborhoods I could get close. In fact, I made it all the way to Fries Mill Road, which not only over shot my cross street for Whitman Square, but is a cross road o the Monroe Township Bikeway. This means I could actually bike safely from my house to Williamstown, then through Glassboro and home. That epic ride I will have to try one of these days. When I was done Whitman Square, I went down Johnson Road a bit. Knowing that it dumps out onto Berlin-Cross Keys Road, I wanted no parts of that. I cut down a few sides roads and ended up further down the Black Horse Pike then I thought. I actually thought I was getting closer to home but I was going the wrong direction. This mistake however allowed me to bike up to a place I used to work. Regal Cross Keys Cinema. Its crazy to think I biked out this far. I then took Tuchahoe Road back through Cross Keys, through the bypass and worked my way home. This stretched allowed me to go into Washington Lake Park. This time, no township festivities so I was able to explore it for a while. The rest of the journey was places and roads I've been on a lot.

June 04, 2016

Instagram Post:Saturday afternoon #biking adventure all over the area. I covered 42 miles. Mostly neighborhoods so all paved road. A lot of hill resistance today. It was hot but not humid so a great day to be outside. #fightforit #fitdontquit #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR #fitness

The Ride: This was a typical ride for me. It started out by going somewhere I hadn't been in a while (Surrey Lake) but then evolved to exploring more of Washington Township. While I have biked through all these communities before, today I made an effort to hit certain neighborhoods, bike all their streets and move on. Skipping neighborhoods along the way (even back tracked to some), but I had a plan and that usually never happens. Hot day, no breeze, overall a nice ride.

June 08, 2016

Instagram Post: (1) Wasn't on my bike for a couple days. Squeezed in this ride after work. A crazy storm led to debris on the #GloucesterTownshipHealthAndWellnessTrail That was interesting so I simply did laps in Grenloch. 19mph winds so no joke either. Temperature was perfect though. The sky was amazing to look at. Tomorrow will be better & I'll ride longer. #FitDontQuit #FightForIt #SeaGullCentury2016 #SeaGullCenturyTraining #LLLR #fitness #Biking (2) Uummm @glotwp we have a problem! Not what you wanna see while out for a ride on the #GloucesterTownshipHealthAndWellnessTrail between Grenloch Lake & Lakeland Road. FYI - & thanks for always keeping this trail safe for all who use it! #FitDontQuit FightForIt #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR #fitness

The Ride: It was a couple days since I rode. I decided to head out for a ride after work. I quickly discovered strong winds and dark skies. I made the decidion to stay close to home. The storm that blew through the day before did damage to the trail (see the picture) so I figured the rest of the trail would probably be in poor shape as well. I simply did some laps in Grenloch. I did 10+ miles and called it a night. Not so much the conditions but still had a few things to do tonight and an early morning tomorrow. Not the best of rides, but it was good to be out there.

June 09, 2016

Instagram Post: Beautiful day today. I started by doing the yard work thing for about 2 miles / 8k in steps. Just finished a 25 mile #Biking adventure. Big shoutout to @glotwp for clearing the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail as that was my warmup. Then through the township and even rode past the municipal building where I gave a tip of my helmet. In and out of neighborhoods (more roads, less traffic = more distance & safer). Went to a few parks on this ride as well. A very enjoyable afternoon. Now to clean my bike #fitness #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR

The Ride: 25 Mile ride today after a 2 mile walk while mowing the lawn. I actually had a plan today. I took the GTWP H&W Trail out to the end. At this point I crossed the Black Horse Pike into Hiltop. From there I went out to Timber Creek Park. Continuing onward I took a lap through Valleybrook as I made my way towards Glen Oaks. This was always my destination on the day. It was the second time I biked through here and this time I tried to cover every street in the community. On the way home I biked through Rosegate and Cameron Circle. This was a fun ride. A purposeful ride. I hardly get out this way so I took advantage of it. Nice weather

June 11 - 18, 2016

SATURDAY, JUNE 11, 2016 - DAY 1

Traveled to the island. Settled in them went to the local bike shop to pick up the rental bikes for the week for the family. I brought my own bike. Never expected to go out on this day, but the kids wanted ice cream so it was an opportunity to get the feel for the road.

Instagram Post: (1) Hey @oriley07 this is how you pack for vacation right? Beer & Bikes? (2) Made it to @longbeachislandnj squeezed in a test #biking adventure. Can't call it #FitDontQuit because well the family biked to @skipperdipper but the ice cream was damn good! Oh that #BlueberryGrahamSwirl where have you been all my life. #vacation #family #SkipperDipper

The Ride: A little under 5 miles in all. 7 mph winds. Not terrible because we were only going about 9 mph on the bikes.

SUNDAY, JUNE 12, 2016 - DAY 2

Instagram Post: (1) Up early today on @longbeachislandnj Biked the island, just shy of 38 miles. The wind going south was no joke, 14-15mph. I had an average #biking speed about 5mph slower going this direction. Great sense of accomplishment though. #FitDontQuit #FightForIt #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LBI (2) It was a good day. Biked the entire @longbeachislandnj earlier this morning. Ended up on the beach. LOVE Exploring new places on my bike.

The Ride: No intention of biking the island this day. I woke up around 5:30 and headed north towards the light house. It was flat, I felt good and then, I had to go South. The wind was ridiculous. I have always said that wind was my enemy. I don't like it. The wind coming off the bay was at times pushing my bike. It took a bit to get used to. I stayed on LBI BLVD most of the way. As I approached the street where we were staying, I realized that the kids wouldn't be up yet so I just went for it. That's how I completed the island. I also realized the route from Brant Beach to Holgate was a nice ride with a lot to see so this would become a staple of my biking activity for the week.

MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2016 - DAY 3

Instagram Post: (1) Went for another #biking adventure on @longbeachislandnj today. This time with @crobromo Okay it's vacation and we biked to @countrykettlefudgelbi because you know fudge! It was an 11 mile ride & that justifies eating the fudge. #VacationLogic #LBI #vacation (2) When you've committed to #SeaGullCentury2016 you bike anywhere and everywhere to continue your #SeaGullCenturyTraining then as fate would have it, you come across Seagull Ave. #salisburyuniversity (3) Okay one more from today. Bikes & Beach #vacation #LBI

The Ride: After biking the island, I really wasn't looking to do a big ride. I thought about going to the fudge store and my sister decided to come along. It was a nice ride. Average speed was only about 10 mph. Along the way we stopped at our old house and did some beach pictures. What was very cool for me is that the fudge shop we go to is on Sea Gull Ave so that also screamed photo opportunity. It was a nice little ride.

TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2016 - DAY 4

Instagram Post: This mornings #biking adventure on @longbeachislandnj was #BrantBeach to #Holgate and back (Southern end of the island). I spent a lot of time sight seeing on the bay side of the island. I also explored #BeachHaven and visited a lot of places the family frequents (those pics on the blog later). The wind continues to be my enemy haha. This wind off the bay is no joke. Builds character I suppose. A good morning. #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LBI #vacation #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #LLLR

The Ride: Its funny, this ride from Brant Beach to Holgate on my bike doesn't seem so bad. When I drive it though, it seems like it goes on forever. A lot of downtime on the return trip as I spent most of it on the bay side and in Beach Haven. Took advantage of the day and enjoyed the serenity of the bay. It's so peaceful. Up to this point, it was my favorite ride of the vacation.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, 2016 - DAY 5

Instagram Post: Another morning #biking adventure on @longbeachislandnj Biked the entire island and then some. 41.5 miles. Wind was calmer then it's been all week. Not much traffic, a good day on the bike. Now well over 100 miles biked on the island so far & still 3 more day to go. #FitDontQuit #FightForIt #vacation #LBI #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016

The Ride: So its like this, I biked the island - check on the bucket list. I had no intention of doing it again. I did however want to check out the bridge going into the island. They have begun construction on a walkway to make it safe to travel all the way to the mainland but at this point its only about halfway completed. It was still a good ride though and fun experience. So now at this point, I'm halfway done the island so what the hell, I went for it. I did complete the bay side on the way to the light house on this trip. Tried to stay off the main road as much as possible. The wind definitely kicked my ass but I am getting used to it by this point. So a major accomplishment of biking the island twice now. A good ride.

THURSDAY, JUNE 16, 2016 - DAY 6

Instagram Post: A rainy morning on @longbeachislandnj but I challenged myself to do a #biking adventure everyday on vacation. So 20 miles from #BrantBeach to #Holgate and back with a little extra to get to the 20 mile mark. Temperature & wind wise it was a nice morning. Going to miss #biking on/near the beach next week. #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LBI #vacation #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #LLLR

The Ride: Following a long ride, this Brant Beach to Holgate and back for 20 miles has become my go to ride. This was the only day I experienced rain the entire week. It was also the least amount of wind I faced all week. Loving the bike and this experience.

FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 2016 - DAY 7

Instagram Post: (1) This mornings @longbeachislandnj #biking adventure covered 30 miles. Up and down both the bay & ocean side. The wind was blowing a ridiculous 12mph SE so it was difficult 1/2 the time. I've biked on the island now seven straight days. It's been a great experience. A little side note: since I bought this new bike (around Easter), I now gone over 700 miles on it. WOW! #FitDontQuit #FightForIt #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #vacation #LBI (2) BEACH. MOON. BIKE. Final night on #vacation in @longbeachislandnj I went on my first #biking adventure at night & 3rd #biking adventure on the day. In all, I biked 65 miles today. A nice way to end the #biking adventure of #LBI #SeaGullCentury2016 #SeaGullCenturyTraining #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #LLLR

The Ride: The morning ride was full of wind, oh boy was there wind. Anyway, 30 miles exploring more of the bay mostly. It was a trip to Holgate and back ride. Then in the afternoon, the kids wanted to bike to get ice cream again and that was another 10 miles. This now put me in an interesting situation, I normally leave on Friday nights but this time I was staying over. I was about 23 miles short of 200 miles biked on LBI for the week. As a result I headed out for the final 23 and actually it was nice because I got to see the sunset as opposed to the sunrise while on the bike. Those side by side pictures are below. I set a goal to ride everyday. I never expected 200 miles this week. It was a lot of fun.

There was just to many wonderful places and beautiful scenery to post to Instagram on a daily basis. Here is the best of the rest of the biking adventures from LBI. Places the family goes every year and some nice scnery captured. I also captured the same shot from Holgate each time I went so they are here as well.

June 19, 2016

Instagram Post: On this #FathersDay I biked to my buddies house. Went swimming, did the BBQ thing and relaxed. Then biked home. It was a total of 12 miles of #biking For those that knew my father, here are some pictures. #Sonny #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #SeaGullCentury2016 #SeaGullCenturyTraining

The Ride: After a long week of riding at the beach, I really needed downtime but my buddy invited me over so I thought a quick ride there and back would be fine. Just stuck to the main roads. No frills as they say. Just a ride.

June 22, 2016

Instagram Post: No biking tonight but I did the walk app thing while cutting the grass. Either I'm becoming more efficient or my property is shrinking. Still over a Mile & 5k in steps. Not bad

June 23, 2016

Instagram Post: Channeling the #SpeedForce today on my #biking adventure. After a 3 day hiatus, I did the #gloucestertownshiphealthandwellnesstrail + some surrounding neighborhoods. Very humid & the sky was getting angry my friends. I called it quits at 15 miles. Didn't want to chance getting caught in a thunderstorm. #TheFlash #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #FitDontQuit #FightForIt #LLLR

The Ride: A quick ride along the Gloucester Township Health & Wellness Trail and surrounding neighborhoods. No new areas today. The biggest issue was the dark skies as rain was headed this way. I stayed close to home as to not get caught in a thunderstorm. Cool breeze, made for an enjoyable ride.

June 24, 2016

Instagram Post: Tonight's #biking adventure really was. Let's start with how the deer in the upper left picture jumped out and scared the hell out of me. Dodging the deer, I nearly missed the turtle crossing the road. The turtle didn't seem to notice the deer. The deer ran off into the woods & I need clean shorts & a blood pressure pill! Besides that, some crazy looking skies, great scenery & a 17 mile ride all within 2 miles of my house. Also continuing the superhero theme, sporting the #GreenLantern jersey (for my nephew @grif561 & yeah okay me too. It's nice to have something to bond over). Interesting ride to say the least. And before everyone comments, of course I stopped to take a picture of the deer & turtle (that's what I do). Finally hard to tell but the township put in a parking lot at the beginning of the trail. Nice! #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR

The Ride: So a quick ride. I stayed local and in highly populated areas. That said, a deer jumped out right in front of me tonight. Avoiding the deer, I nearly missed a turtle. It scared the hell out of me. Besides that, the traditional Grenloch loop does provide nice scenery. Crazy looking sky as well. Cool night made for an enjoyable ride (at least until that deer showed up.)

June 25, 2016

Instagram Post: My Dr. Doolittle #biking adventures continued today. First, I changed it up. Busted out the mountain bike & did some off road work. That's always a great time. 10 hard miles. Scratched, dirty, sweaty, but not bleeding so that's a win. It always feels strange getting back on this bike after not using it for a while. Hardest adjustment was the pedals believe it or not. I'm very used to clips now. Anyway, after yesterday's wild kingdom adventure you'd think I would be done with animals .... NOPE! Today near the end of my ride, this wild Turkey was standing in the middle of the trail. It had zero intention of moving. It was a stalemate thing. It finally walked away. Then I passed a bunch of ducks. Okay no issue here, it's that the first time I realized a duck could fly was an hour after I got my drivers license and this damn thing (full wing span mind you) headed right for my windshield). I've not been a fan of ducks since. I guess being in the woods I'd expect to see something right? Finally, today ended my trilogy of superhero #biking jerseys You guys didn't really think I wouldn't have #Batman did you? Fun ride. Must do it again soon. #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #SeaGullCenturyTraining #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR

The Ride: Its always fun to do some off road work. Today was no exception. I'm getting more familiar with these trails and even hit a few I wasn't on before. Its always a hard work out, but fun. Its also good to change things up also.

June 029, 2016

Instagram Post: This morning I got in some laps at the pool. I realized this was the first day this month I actually went #swimming for whatever reason. At any rate 3000 yards in an hour which is a pace 2 minutes per 100. Not making the Olympic team at that pace but here's the thing; you only compete against yourself. Not swimming in about a month, I was still able to continuously swim for an hour & (here's the best part) my 100 yard split time was 2 seconds faster then the last time I was in the pool. So I actually got FASTER! Actually it proved to me that all the other cardio I've done (mostly #biking ) has helped my endurance. Furthermore, I personally know that I am better shape today then I was a year ago today. The goal is to be in better shape one year from now. I've come a long way and it's okay to celebrate your individual achievements. Still working towards my bucket list #biking goal of #SeaGullCentury2016 and this workout definitely did wonders for my psyche. It's a good mental health day. #FightForIt #FitDontQuit #SeaGullCentury2016 #LLLR #Swimming #YMCA

June 29, 2016

Instagram Post: I'm having an amazing mental day! I feel great. In case you missed it, this morning I did 3000 yards of #Swimming Just now I completed a 31 mile #biking adventure. It's been a wonderful day. A lot of hard work but I feel better for it. I'm overflowing with positive energy today so if you need some, take it. Hope everyone is doing fabulous today! #FitDontQuit #FightForIt #SeaGullCentury2016 #SeaGullCenturyTraining #LLLR

The Ride: I hit the neighboring developments within two miles of my house. This actually turned into a 31 mile ride. I 1 - 2 punch of swimming then biking. The swim put me in a great mental place that the ride was just the icing on the cake. No issues, felt great.
